Need tech Help
Ok here is whats up. I had wow and tbc installed up untill about 4 months ago. I am trying to reinstall it. I have gotten WOW reinstalled but when I go to install TBC the installer stops installing when I change out disks. This does not happen at the same point each time. The problem is when I try to start over with disk 1 it states that tbc is already installed. The only way I can restart is by totally removing WOW and reinstalling all over. I have done this about 5 times now. I am racking my brain there has to be an easier way. Some body clue me in. Oh and so you know I have not changed any hardware since I last had this installed.

Does it stop in the middle of a disc or always when switching discs? It is possible there is a scratch or the disc is dirty - you may try cleaning it.
If you have another machine in the house with a copy of BC on it, even if it is way out of date, you can copy the WoW folder to your machine and the patcher should do the right thing.

it happens only when changing disks. As for disks being dirty, they are clean and unscratched. It has happened going from disk 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4. So not always at the same spot. I have tried using my other disk drive and that didnt help. And no other computer has tbc on it in the house.

Ravel, I just checked wow tech forums, seems you're not alone. Now since I am Tech-Impaired (I know hard to believe!) Take a look-see there.
You could try downloading from Fileplanet (if you have an account.)

Copy the contents of all the disks to a folder on your hard drive and install from the folder. You'll need about 5gb to do this. You'll get a warning about overwriting files after the first disk copies, just ignore it and proceed

Indy just informed me that he would be happy to scratch and dirty your disks.Ravel wrote:As for disks being dirty, they are clean and unscratched.
Sounds like copying DVD contents to a folder and installing out of that is the way to go.

Download
Just download TBC if you have a fast enough connection.
It can be had on Emule, Bittorrent or Newsgroups.

You can download it off the blizzard site too, just go to the Accounts page off worldofwarcraft.com. I ended up downloading everything for my desktop PC, but i've got a pretty good connection.
Also, my installation was hanging at 98%... I ended up having to start windows in safe mode to get it installed.
